Calvin Bassey Biography
Calvin Bassey, Chinedu MON (born December 31, 1999, but born Ughelumba) is a professional football player for Fulham in the Premier League. He plays left back or center back. His home country is Italy, but he plays for Nigeria.
Bassey came up through Leicester City’s school system, but he never played for the team as an adult before joining Rangers for free in July 2020. He played 65 games for Rangers over two seasons and helped them win the Scottish Premiership and the Scottish Cup.
He signed with Dutch club Ajax in July 2022, and Rangers got the most money for a player in their history. In July of that year, he signed with the English club Fulham.
Career
Leicester City After a good trial, Bassey joined Leicester City when he was 15 years old. He played regularly for the club’s under-18 and under-23 teams as he moved up through the youth ranks.
Rangers change Bassey signed a pre-contract with Rangers on June 6, 2020. He officially joined the team when the summer transfer window opened in July.
On August 9, 2020, he played his first game for Rangers in the Scottish Premiership, coming on as a replacement in a 3–0 win over St. Mirren.
He scored the team’s first and only goal in a 4-0 Scottish League Cup win over Falkirk. Bassey was an important part of Rangers’ run to the UEFA Europa League Final in 2022, which they lost to Eintracht Frankfurt on penalties.
Rangers announced in July 2022 that Bassey had been sold to Ajax for a club record £20 million. The first game he played for the team was in the Dutch Super Cup (Johan Cruyff Shield) on July 31, 2022. He was sent off right away, 15 minutes after coming on as a replacement.

Fulham change Along with Fulham, Bassey signed a four-year deal on July 28, 2023. Fulham paid €21 million to Ajax to get the player. There was a Premier League game between Fulham and Manchester United on February 24, 2024. In that game, Fulham beat Manchester United 1-2 on the road.

Personal life
Bassey was born in Italy but went to England when he was a kid. He lived in Newham as a child. Bassey is the brother of Y.CB, an English rapper whose real name is Matthew Bassey and who makes music with the UK drill group 7th.
